Sunday 24th February 2019
Fancy a dirty weekend? With 40 (ish, who’s counting) jumps to tackle, 2 water splashes to wake you up, camouflage netting to squeeze under, lung busting hills including the famous Nessie hill to stagger up (and down) and not forgetting the 3 water wades to really finish you off. Can you tame The Beast?
The Beast is a Double or Quit adventure trail event with each lap being approximately 5 miles. You can run 1 lap and finish/Quit or choose to go around again to run 2 laps then finish/Double. You literally decide as you approach the Finish straight whether you're going to run 1 or 2 laps.
Fancy one of our much sought after Beast headtubes/headbands/scarf, call them what you will! Available to purchase during the online entry process @ £10, then collect them at Registration...
The Beast takes place at Aylesford Equine X Country Course, Aylesford Farm, Shoby, Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, LE14 3PF. The course is well signed and located off the A6006, 5miles from Melton Mowbray and 1 mile from the Six Hills junction.
The Beast will commence at 11.00am on Sunday 24th February 2019.

Pre Race Briefing?
There'll be a Pre Race Briefing for ALL competitors at 10.45am at the start area to warn you of any additional hazards.
There'll be free on site parking for all competitors and spectators. Parking will be supervised by The Beast marshals.
There'll be drinks stations halfway round the course, at the start of the Double lap and at the finish with squash, water, coke, jelly babies and kind words...
First Aid will be available at the Start/Finish area and there will be mobile First Aiders on the course.
The event photographs will be available to view, share, tag and download for free from the event facebook page.
The Wolf Hut and Brockleby's Pies will keep you fed and watered at The Beast, including vegetarian and gluten free options. They will be onsite from approximately 8.30am to provide breakfast for any runners arriving early.
Unfortunately due to the nature of the course, Emergency vehicle access and the fact that the surrounding land is privately owned (we only hire the actual course) we are unable to allow spectators onto The Beast course, although spectators are welcome to cross the new 'Warm Up' area of small jumps near to the Start/Finish; from here you'll be able to view the woods and 'Wine Glass' jump/water splash and have a play on the warm Up jumps (at your own risk, obviously). Please respect the marshals, the landowners and the course markings and remain behind the barriers at all times.
Key and Bag Storage?
Key and Bag storage will be available at the Registration Trailer. Although keys/bags will be supervised throughout the duration of the event, Pure Personal Training Ltd cannot be held responsible for any loss of keys/property left at the Trailer.
Every finisher will receive The Beast medal and event t shirt, plus our infamous flapjacks...
The first, second and third male and female runners to complete 1 lap (quit) and the first, second and third male and female runners to complete 2 laps (double) will receive a prize.
Tackling The Beast may seem a little daunting, but don't despair, there'll be toilets at the Start/Finish area. Please respect the surroundings of Aylesford Farm and use the loos provided.
There's a 'Field Shower' available to competitors in the car park. Okay, it's a hosepipe.
We advise the wearing of trail or fell shoes, however if you enjoy crawling up hills and sliding down them, road shoes will be just fine. Running spikes are not allowed.
The race results will be posted on the Results section of the website the day after the race.
We will be happy to offer a 50% refund of the entry fee up until 2 months prior to The Beast or a transfer to another Beast event. After this time we regret that we will not be able to provide any refund or credit either in part or in full, whatever the circumstances of the entrants' non-attendance. Competitors will be able to transfer their Beast entry to another runner via the online entry system up until the online entries close at midnight on Tuesday 19th February.
Finally, we all love a dirty weekend but a word of caution, please DO NOT ATTEMPT TO TAME THE BEAST if you're feeling unwell or have an injury. You can always try again at another Beast.
